Right atrial migration of nephrostomy catheter.
Percutaneous tube nephrostomy (PTN) placement is associated with bleeding complications in a small proportion of cases. We study a case of inadvertent renal vein catheterization during PTN tube change with catheter right atrial migration treated by fluoroscopically monitored catheter removal.

Catheter-associated candidemia is a common problem in immunocompromised patients. A leukemic patient had Candida right ventricular mural endocarditis complicating an indwelling right atrial catheter. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of Candida right ventricular mural vegetation visualized by two-dimensional echocardiography.

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is a widely accepted treatment for urinary calculi, but it is not without complications. We present the case of a 76-year-old male with a retained council tip catheter after percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Fluoroscopic guidance was used to perform percutaneous puncture of the catheter balloon, and the catheter was removed without complication. Advantages of various ne...
متن کاملAttenuation of interatrial conduction using right atrial septal catheter ablation.
OBJECTIVES We sought to characterize a method of attenuating interatrial conduction using radiofrequency ablated lesions applied to the right atrial septum. BACKGROUND Interatrial conduction occurs in specific zones. Recent data suggest that interatrial conduction can be important in triggering and sustaining atrial fibrillation. Therefore, a method for attenuating interatrial conduction may ...
